Hofstaders Law
This is a law from cognitive scientist Douglas Hofstadter that says a task will always take longer that you are expecting, even if you take into account this law.
We are bad at estimating how long tasks will take.
I first came across this in Four-Thousand-Weeks-by-Oliver-Burkeman-2021.
