We create open loops and it is psychologically satisfying to close them. This is the language of getting things done.
Gestalt psychology argues there are open loops from childhood, needs that we never addressed that we are trying to close.
As a writer, you constantly have lots of ideas. Sometimes for your wellbeing you just need to try them, even for ten minutes so you can close the loop on it.
This is the whole point of Getting Things Done.
