Ekphrastic Writing
A way of writing in response to a piece of art. You use the visual medium as a Prompts for a verbal piece.
This is one Poetic-form that works a lot better when it is not merely describing the art, but using it as a starting point for feelings or memories. It’s an interpretation, not a direct description. Like Anne Sexton’s The Starry Night.
Using art pieces like this is a way to Specific-Detail and detailed, as you observe things within the painting that you would not necessarily notice on first glance.
